Hi, I’m Joyce Shulman

Strategist | Human-Centered Relationship Architect

I design ecosystems where relationships drive real strategic advantage — and where bold ideas turn into real-world impact.

Over my career, I’ve had the privilege of:

  • Designing the future healthcare consumer journey for 40 million members

  • Reimagining patient-centered ambulatory care for 4.2 million members

  • Crafting in-person and virtual experiences using next-gen digital platforms

  • Leading rapid business model prototyping inside a Silicon Valley venture accelerator

  • Pioneering health tech wearables customer experience strategy and building programming to scale (before we used the term “wearable!”

  • Teaching strategy to the next generation of Design MBA changemakers at California College of the Arts

  • Co-creating large-scale public art installations across the San Francisco Bay Area

I specialize in building 0-to-1 programs that combine strategic framing, deep customer insights, and rapid experimentation, backed by operational excellence.

Whether supporting advisory services at PricewaterhouseCoopers, scaling national patient experience initiatives inside complex systems like Kaiser Permanente and Elevance Health, or driving accelerator and venture growth, I thrive at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution.

My work centers on one core belief: relationships are a source of strategic power. From building advisor-mentor ecosystems to designing high-impact B2B partnerships and curating alumni communities that sustain momentum, I identify and operationalize the connection points that fuel program success.

In addition to my consulting and corporate work, I am deeply committed to supporting Bay Area makers and entrepreneurs. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for SFMade and have proudly served on the Board of The Crucible, where we champion access to the industrial and fine arts for all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
